They're back!

I'm thrilled to reintroduce the Orca tumblers. For this batch I was inspired by long days at the beach, sunny days by the pool and the vibrant colors of summer. The three new designs exude that easy breezy feeling of the season. Fill one up with your favorite icy beverage to stay hydrated through the day. Don't worry... we brought back the first three designs as well.

Easter 2018

The Easter bunny hops into town in a week! Do you have your
basket supplies ready? I couldn't think of a more festive way to get ready for the sweetest holiday than to personalize a basket the BFP way. I stumbled upon a perfectly miniature basket at Publix while grocery shopping, then ran to Target to get fillers and the rest fell into place. Whether you stuff baskets with candy or festive goods, throw in some BFP products to make it even more special!

The Scout Guide Nashville, volume 6

When features fall into place organically, they end up being the
best partnerships. I was thrilled when the team at The Scout Guide
Nashville reached out wanting to include one of my illustrations in the
latest edition. See the guide below. I was also pleasantly surprised to also
see my notecards included in the You're Invited feature in TSG. You can
shop locally in Nashville at You're Invited for all your party needs!

How gorgeous is not only the latest TSG, but also this new coffee table book? Cast is the perfect addition to my extensive coffee table book collection. I love not only the contents of the book, but the stunning cover. It makes my neutral-loving heart beat wild. Pick up a copy of Cast here

There are days (like yesterday) where pajamas seem like appropriate attire for the day. I have my sights set on this Barefoot Dreams cardigan for fall. It looks cozy enough to be a robe yet cute enough to wear out in public. Give me!

What to Wear... to chill

I'm not sure if it's because I'm officially "in my 30s" or if it's because loungewear has become it's own category on most retailer's websites, but it's time to step up my lounge game. There are too many good options to say no. Even places like Target have increased the size of the pajama/loungewear department. It's time, y'all... it's time. Whether you're hanging out at home alone, inviting your best girlfriends over for the Bachelorette finale, or having a Netflix and chill night with a significant other, throw on something comfy but cute. It's as simple as a cute pair of track shorts, a basic white tee, and a long cardigan (something I plan on living in this fall). Start with that combination and add your own spin to make yourself more comfortable (I see changing out the shorts for my old faithful high-waisted leggings when the temps drop). The long cardigan is something that can almost double as a robe around the house (especially early in the morning when it's always 10 degrees colder inside, someone explain that one to me). Here are some of my current favorites that are light enough to wear around the house and will be the perfect choice when fall arrives:
I'm also positively obsessed with anything from Barefoot Dreams including this sweatshirt. I would live in this. I also cannot curl up on the couch without my favorite BD blanket. It's the softest thing in the world as most of their products are, AND it's included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It's the perfect time to pick up a few early Christmas presents if you ask me (it's available in multiple colors here)!

Seeing Pink

I love seeing how you style your BFP products. Whether it's a print on a gallery wall or a cute desk situation, keep them coming... Thank you @schlabach.sara for sharing this one!

After a couple days on the slopes, it's time to stretch it out with some morning
yoga. Let's face it, I'm the girl in the front. The instructor says, option to rise into
your headstand or stay put and I'm like, I'm going to stay here. Who's with me holding strong in lotus? Namaste...

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

You absolutely cannot beat a cup of peppermint hot chocolate at Christmas time. It's so seasonal, it keeps you warm on those chilly nights, and is even better when sipped by the fireside (and Christmas tree). Williams Sonoma has the best. Bonus points if you sip it out of a brand new BFP cup (get one here before they sell out)!

Consider this my auto-reply... social media might make it appear like I'm working around the clock, but today marks my last day in the office until 2017! I'm stepping away to spend time with family doing Christmas things. I hope you do the same!

Pip, pop, pipcorn!
Y'all, have you heard of / are you obsessed with Pipcorn?? It's the cutest mini popcorn with cute packaging and a handful of delicious flavors to choose from. I'm not going to lie, I tried them all. I'm a huge fan of a sweet and salty combo, so the Kettle Corn is my favorite with Rosemary being a close second. The Sea Salt is classic and is great with a few M&Ms thrown in while the Truffle is a bold and unique flavor. Try all four with the 4 pack or load up on smaller 100 calorie bags.

(exclusively in stores - other cute bowls here)
Fill a stocking full, tie a small bag on the outside of a gift, host a movies & popcorn night with your holiday favorites... what you do, try it! Or better yet, spread some holiday cheer by sending a mini bag to a friend, neighbor, or colleague.

2 Easy Holiday Cocktails

'Tis the season for eating, drinking and being merry!
Today we're bringing you two of the easiest cocktails that will surely make a splash with your guests. Whether you're the host or simply being a gracious guest by not showing up empty handed, these are two cocktails you'll want to have in your arsenal. Seriously, they're are so easy (translation: they take about 5 minutes to throw together and have about 4 ingredients total). They pass the taste test, the time test, and most importantly, the short list of ingredientstest. I have been wanting an excuse to use my fresh rosemary plant, and both of these cocktails called for a garnish of rosemary!
I came across the first one while flipping through the Favorite Things issue of the O Mag. Oprah always seems to kill it at all things Christmas, let's be serious. The only thing that takes a little planning is freezing ice cubes in advance. They are what takes this one to the ultra fancy (looking) Christmas punch level. I halfed the recipe below to simply make one pitcher full.
pitcher: World Market  |  champagne flutes: World Market  |  tray: West Elm  |  "Eloise" notecards
2 bottles Prosecco (chilled)
3 C white cranberry juice (or white grape juice)
20 drops Angostura bitters
1 C fresh cranberries
Rosemary sprigs (for garnish)
In each section of a large ice cube tray, place a few cranberries and a cluster of rosemary leaves.
Fill with water and freeze about 6 hours or overnight. In a punch bowl, combine Prosecco, juice,
and bitters. Add prepared ice cubes and additional fresh cranberries to bowl just before guests arrive, and serve.

The next one popped up on my instagram feed as a sponsored ad and instantly grabbed my attention. It screams cold weather with hints of maple syrup, a splash of something sweet in the grapefruit juice and a Christmasy touch of rosemary as a finishing touch.
wine glasses: Pier 1  |  "Mays" notecards  |  all photos: Catherine Truman Photography
4 parts Vodka (Grey Goose)
1 part organic maple syrup
5 parts freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
1 pinch of sale
1 sprig of rosemary
Add the maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and a sprig of rosemary to a glass. Mash
the rosemary to combine the flavors. Top with the vodka and fresh grapefruit juice.
Serve over ice.
Cheers to the holiday season!

Top Beauty Buys

The 2016 Gift Guide launched just in time for those last minute shoppers
(hint hint: Christmas is less than 20 days away!!). Today I'm expanding it to include my favorites in the Beauty category. From the Tweexy Nail Polish holder to the Spa Tower (hello, perfect for moms and grandmothers), the people that created these items are pretty much geniuses. I've included some of my absolute must-haves that I use on a daily basis from the contoured eye mask to Drybar's Triple Sec texture spray (and let's not forget the St. Tropez gradual tan to help fight the winter blues). But one of my favorite finds this year has to be the Spatty Datty... get every last drop out of those narrow makeup bottles with these reusable mini spatulas (for lack of a better term). See the full Gift Guide here and the latest addition, my Top Beauty Buys.
I'm excited to share another one of my latest additions to the beauty counter...
the Quantum Switch by Theorie. The set includes 4 different sized barrels to
create the perfect look for every occasion. I prefer to use a larger barrel to create beachy waves, but if you're wanting a tighter curl, there are options! It also includes a glove so you won't burn your hand and comes in a perfectly sized travel bag. This one is a must-have!

How to Work From Home

Working from home has it's perks, but it can also be tough getting motivated on
those early Monday mornings. With no one to report to, it's up to you to get the job done!I've discovered that a chic but clean workspace does the trick. Keep it simple so you're not easily distracted by cute (but semi-pointless) decorative objects.
Everything on my desk serves a purpose which helps keep the clutter to a minimum. While this isn't an exact representation of my desk situation, it has elements of my actual desk and workspace. See this article by Domino for more home office inspo. I also saw this on Damsel in Dior's Snapchat (of all places): even if you're working from home, throw on a pair of heels for a conference call. It makes you feel more official, I promise.

Happy Easter

I got a little carried away with Easter eggs earlier this week. While I started by dying a handful, I eventually gave up and switched to the old faithful Sharpie method.
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!
Be sure to tune in Monday for a special announcement!
