Lately, I've seen several celebrities dress in wide-leg pants and a cute crop top. While I think the ensemble is chic and summer goals, I'm not sure I'm daring enough to try it. For those that are, kudos!

While I'm not a huge tv binge-watcher, this dreary weather has forced me indoors with little activity other than The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Who's watching it? I watched the first two seasons in about a week and have been on the edge of my seat waiting for the next season to drop, though I think we have a while before that happens. What's not to love about a show with a female powerhouse as lead and a pre-Carrie Bradshaw closet to drool over.
This is my interpretation of a 2019 version of Midge...

I've recently been working on new designs for spring. In the process, I've found myself increasingly inspired by Chanel, both old and new. It's a classic brand, one that will never go out of style. For some reason, I'm craving the classic tweeds, quilting details and cap-toe shoes. It never gets old, does it?

Happy Monday! Here's a fresh week, a new set of goals, and a fresh page in your calendar!
We just announced a warehouse sale that will be exclusively on instagram.

There are days when my to-do list is simply one non-glamorous errand after another. On days like this, instead of conforming to the expected errand attire, I like to go big. I'll throw a fuzzy jacket on with jeans so I feel like I'm going somewhere more important later, even if it's only to the dermatologist.

My final thoughts on the Golden Globes...
I want to take Lucy Liu's gown and make it into a sequin bomber for every day wear. I would wear it with distressed jeans, a plain white tee and booties. How can we make this happen?
January 07, 2019
The Golden Globes are always an exciting event to watch because it kicks off red carpet season. You get an early look at what will be trending this spring. One thing I noticed was a handful of bold jewel tones but a lot of soft pastels, lots of pale pinks and neutrals. Softer fabrics and unfussy hair styles ruled supreme. It appears that feminine details and an over-all softer look are what we're going for and I couldn't be happier about it. And can we talk about Julia Roberts? I mean.... Queen.

Happy New Year!
I can't believe we're already in 2019. There are times when I feel like the clock is speeding up when what we really need is for it to slow down. Let's make this year our best yet, shall we? Let's make time for friends and family. Let's be present by putting our phones away for a bit. Let's be nice to each other and have more compassion in this tumultuous world we live in. Wishing you a happy Happy New Year!

Why is it that we near the end of November and I'm instantly stressed? So many Christmas presents to buy, so many events to find outfits for, so many festive gatherings to attend... is anyone else feeling like they're one step away from a total meltdown? Let's hold it together... we can do this! Don't lose sight of the bigger reason for the season. After all, it is the most wonderful time of the year! Let's love and support one another. I can promise you this, there's someone else out there going through exactly what you are no matter what your mess might be. Let's meet each other in the midst of our messes and celebrate life!

Nothing screams fall more than a touch of leopard. It adds interest to any outfit and can spice up even the most basic all black outfit. It also pairs really well with a killer red jacket. Happy Fall!

Pop the champagne... grab the balloons... it's Friday!
We're also continuing the celebrations of the new blog! We can't think of a reason not to celebrate this and the kickoff of the weekend.

Welcome to our new home!! After years of blogging on another platform, we finally made the switch to have all our BFP content on one page and under the same umbrella. You can still view our old posts by clicking here, but this will be the new home for the Brittany Fuson Blog.
Now that we've made introductions, let's talk about black tie affairs. With an invitation to a black tie wedding in the month of December, what do you wear? I want to wear something fancy and festive, but yet understated. What are your go-to sources for formal dresses? I'm all ears. It's out of the ordinary that I'm planning this far in advance, but the holidays always seem to sneak up on me. This is my attempt at being prepared (for once).

When it's time to start coming up with designs for a new collection or season, I like to call the creative process conceptualizing. For the past month or so, I have been knee-deep in "conceptual mode" brainstorming and sketching new ideas and products. When planning for the future, it's always fun to look back to older designs that were widely popular, this one being one that fits into the best seller category. I've been analyzing it for a few days trying
to figure out what makes this particular illustration so special. Is it the monochromatic color scheme, the recognizable storefront, or something you can't quite put your finger on? I'd love to hear your feedback about this design and what you would love to see more of in the future!

What is it about summer that has me craving sweet treats and fun trips to the bakery? Wishing everyone a sweet weekend!

I'm still pouring over the images from the Royal Wedding. I'm
embarrassed to tell you how many times I've watched it all the way through. While I know there are some people that share my excitement over this, I also realize it's time to move on with life. So, today I'm sharing an older illustration that was intended to be some sort of birthday card that never made it to the printing floor. Not all designs make the cut, so this one will be filed away in the "unused" folder. I still think she's cute enough to share, and that dress... need!

The annual Met Gala is something I look forward to each year.
It's the debut of the new costume collection inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. So, celebrities, designers, and the like show up dressed according to the theme. More or less, it's a very expensive costume party. This year's theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination
, raised some eyebrows (take a peak inside the museum here
and don't miss this post
highlighting the perfectly polished table settings). Putting all that aside, let's focus on the fashion and how it might have been one of my all time favorite red carpets. The theme lends itself to lavish golds and reds, heavy embroidery, over the top headpieces, and angelic dresses. I loved seeing
different designers' interpretation of the theme. See all the red carpet looks here
. Don't miss my absolute favorite of the night, Hailee Steinfeld
wearing Prabal Gurung.

With the news of the third royal baby being born this morning, I've
been glued to the live feed waiting for William & Kate to emerge from the hospital with the new baby in tow. Anybody else watching?
