What I Use
One of my most frequently asked questions is:
what kind of markers do you use?
After being a full-time artist and illustrator for almost 15 years, my medium of choice has remained the same. I have been brand-loyal to the markers and colored pencils I use since the beginning. I have found what works for me and I always encourage other artists to do the same for them! What works for me might not work for you.
So, what exactly do I use?
I am a Prismacolor girl through and through. I use the double-ended markers and colored pencils for each and every illustration. I will note that the brand has been sold to another brand, so the availability of these markers remains to be seen. We were once able to buy them individually, but it's looking like they will only be available as sets moving forward (this is just what I have discovered through my own research). I will list each and every product used in my illustrations below. One more note I would make is someone once advised me to use marker paper to preserve the longevity of the markers (spoiler alert: I don't). Since my art is not sold as originals but is scanned in immediately and then mass-produced, I do not use more expensive paper. That is something you can experiment with and see what works best for you!
