Sweet Red

February 1st - 14th mark the 14 days where I'm in love with the color combo of red & pink. I'm not a fan of it any other time of year, but for some reason it's perfect right now. Not to mention, how perfect is this Monique Lhuillier color blocked dress? D I E

In other news, I need your help! It's time for the new collection, and I'm trying to pick which one of these should be the new brunette pregnant lady having a girl. What are your thoughts? Comment below with your favorite. I can't decide if the balloons make it look like birthday, and the flowers kind of take away from the bump. Help me decide!

Giambattista Valli Couture Spring '16

With NYFW just around the corner, it's time to kick off the most fashionable month with a preview of the Couture shows. Giambattista Valli is always drool-worthy... floral details, flowy silhouettes, and feminine embellishments - it's going to be a girly spring!

2015 Planner Reject

You might recognize the background of this illustration as it was included in the 2015 Planner. However, the girl was replaced by a much more fashionable version making her the perfect pick for February.

Nashville Lifestyles Weddings Winter/Spring 2016

It's always a good day when you spot your product in a magazine. I'm so flattered by the support not only of everyone on social media, but especially of my local Nashville community. A big thank you to the NL Weddings team for including me in your "Maid for Each Other" feature about the best bridesmaid's gifts.

From the Pews

If I'm invited to your wedding, I'm most likely using those handy pew pencils and sketching on your wedding program. It's one of my favorite wedding gifts to give - a framed illustration that was sketched live during the wedding of the bride in her wedding dress. Below are two from summer 2015, both very close family friends.

Mrs. Scott

I don't always have time or space to fit in every request for a custom illustration. However, when a husband emails asking for a gift for his new wife, I make time. You can almost hear the desperation in their voice (via email). While I'm sure most of the emails are prompted by said new wife, I love the thought of him completely surprising her with a custom illustration from their big day. Guys, I have your back.... trust me, it's a good gift and she won't want to return it!

An older bridal illustration for the bride who wore white but needed that pop of red on her sole...
There's also a fresh batch of cozy sweaters on the [ Current Covets ] that you don't want to miss.

Multiple Angles

A dress so good that you have to see it from multiple angles...

A custom bridal illustration that we ended up using as an invitation, too.

Self Portrait

A cute little number as a potential Valentine's Day look. Not an actual self portrait of me, but a lovely frock by the brand Self Portrait (also available here).

When your besties have babies, you obviously sign up to do the invitations.

Pope & Co.

It's not Thursday, but this illustration screams Mellie Grant & Olivia Pope to me. They're probably heading to a secret meeting in a bunker somewhere.
New prints will be coming soon to the website! Stay tuned....

I was probably the last one on the planet to update my software and heretofore, get to experience everything new in the emoji world. The taco? Amazing. The coffin? Creepy. The champagne bottle? Where were you when I needed you last month?
But, hands down my absolute favorite new emoji has to be the eye roll because it depicts my mood on most days....

Golden Globes 2016

Last night's red carpet provided plenty of eye candy while giving us a glimpse of emerging trends for Spring '16. With a plethora of cut-outs, plunging v-necks, sequins and deep jewel tones, most of the head-to-toe looks still had an element of minimalism. The hair was a loose, undone up-do or a laid back, shoulder skimming beach wave. A bold red lip was the icing on the cake for many (Jennifer Lopez's lip color was perfection).
Did you see Taylor Schilling's black jumpsuit?? That was such a major win.... I loved it! And Helen Mirren, can I please be her when I'm her age? She killed it. While there were also a handful of stunning ladies in white (Alicia VikanderLaverne CoxTaraji P. Henson) it was the pops of color that won in my book.
I, of course, had to illustrate a few of my favorites while watching them stroll in...
Brie Larson looked effortless in her shimmering gold gown. Understated is key when wearing that much sparkle, and she did it perfectly.
Olivia Wilde in this plunging v-neck sequined merlot dress = perfection. I was a bit obsessed with her hair, too.
And can we talk about Jennifer Lopez? I mean, she knows how to turn heads no matter what the occasion. She pulled off a mustard yellow gown in the most perfect way. It was classy, chic, and down right perfect.
Of course, I have to sing the praises of my girl, Giuliana Rancic. Gah, how good is this coral dress with cascading sleeves and carefully placed cut-outs? I loved it and I LOVE her hair. I'm scheduling a hair appointment asap.
BUT, there was one queen of the night: Jennifer Lawrence was everything
She looked stunning in this red Dior with interesting cut-outs, and the necklace... I mean, the necklace. I have no words. She kills it every time. And I want to be her best friend, so JLaw, call me. Let's hang out.
There were only a few that left me completely underwhelmed and they were Cate, Kate & Kate. Kate Hudson's Michael Kors dress was ok, but it just made her look washed out. Kate Winslet's navy number was just boring. And what was Cate Blanchett thinking? Sorry, I hated it. Don't even get me started on Jane Fonda
Until the next award show....

No matter what your skiing destination is, you need to see these Chanel skis. Having broken a binding or two trying to keep up with my brother for most of my life, these beauties would not be for me. They sure are pretty, though!

Apres Ski

Who doesn't want to be on the slopes right now?? I know I do. While I won't be heading out west this year for a ski trip, I will be heading that way over Memorial Day and I can't wait! I'm opting for a summer trip in the mountains instead.

Damsel in Distress

You wake up on a Wednesday with no heat. You...

A. throw on your chicest outfit and head to your favorite local coffee shop and deal with the lack of heat later

B. bundle up and sit in the cold while working, deal with the heat later

C. call the heat people asap

D. call Dad

While I wish my immediate response was C, it was actually a combination of B + D. Stay tuned.... I feel like the heat saga is just getting started.

Bachelor Party

Playing catch-up yesterday resulted in watching The Bachelor while working (and possibly drinking wine). If you follow me on instagram, you noticed the brief interruptions in work to highlight two of the standouts from last night's premiere, Lace and the rose girl (no idea what her name is).

I can't wait to tune in for the shenanigans each Monday night!

Happy 2016!

After taking a couple weeks off to enjoy the holidays, I'm finally back at it! Today actually feels like January 1st as I'm changing planners, starting taxes, tying up loose ends, etc.

So, what do you want to see this year not only on the blog but in designs, products, etc? Comment below with any ideas you have!

This was the original cover girl for the 2016 planner, but after much thought I dropped the background to keep it clean and simple.

If you don't already have a 2016 planner, pick one up here before they're gone
